Adah hated phones, that was nothing new. But sometimes, she had awesome timing a very special kind of boredom that came long with reordering your neurological disease and only a small amount of time before school started (which meant she had no idea how busy she'd been wheeling her ass around campus), and so she was giving in for one of the only numbers she could call and actually somewhat enjoy it.

Lee's mun apologized for missing this, damn faily work email forwarding phone hadn't rung in awhile so he was a little leery when he picked it up and said, "Hello?"

Stupid girl voice.

Adah 's mun figured it was something like that paused a moment, because that wasn't exactly how she'd expected the voice on the other line to sound.

"...Eel?"

Goddamn her uncanny timing.

"If I said no, would you believe me?" he wondered.

"Not anymore, I wouldn't," Adah admitted. "You're a girl, aren't you?"

"Yep," he said, not even bothering to deny it. "Woke up a girl this morning, have been a girl since then. You're not a guy."

"No, ma'am," Adah agreed, grinning. "I am actually properly endowed with all the proper parts I was born with."

Pause.

"Ha ha."

When you grew up with a disability your whole life, it felt good to laugh at someone else's bodily misfortunes.

"Shut up," he grumped. "I won't tell you all the fun things I've done if you're mean."

"I imagine they're pretty much along along the lines of the fun things I did when I was a guy," Adah countered, "and not only do I have a good imagination, Eel, but I also have a lot of technical anatomical knowledge. Are you still short?"

"What does that have--" He stopped and frowned. "Me being short is a good thing. You don't have to strain when you're around me."

That was a roundabout way of saying yeah, he was still short.

Oh, yes, that was definitely a yes.

"What about the arms?"

"...smaller," he said sadly. "Still not too bad. My hair's longer this time, maybe darker. Longer legs too even if I am still short."

"It astounds me that you have all these details ready to report," Adah said, but she was grinning, so it was a good kind of astounded.

"Well, I haven't had anything else to do," he explained, shaking his head. "I haven't gone out yet and this is a new body, different from the last time so I've been checking it out."

"I'm sure you have," Adah said, carefully trying to keep her voice dry, and therefor hard to read. She knew she wasn't anyone to talk.

"Hey, if I were there and you weren't experimenting, I bet you'd wanna check it out for me," he decided.
