so today, jackie, her dad and i all went to san marcos for sky diving.
we got there a little late since her dad got pulled over but were up in the air about an hour later. we flew to about 22,000 feet the first time and it was the absolute best experience... they really don't give you time to hesitate, you just jump out one group after another. my tandem guy was pretty cool and my camera/video guy looked like fabio lol. it's just a weird feeling, nothing like i expected. it's not even like you're falling like on a rollercoaster or anything... it's just like you're in mid air in the cold with 120mph winds flying in your face. once the guy pulls the cord, you feel like every thing comes to a screetching hault and thats your time to just float and enjoy the scenery (and avoid clouds lol). jackie was under me and she landed on her butt... then i landed (a perfect landing i might add) and then her dad landed pretty good. when we got back inside, the lady informed us that the batteries died on my video camera and jackie's dad's still shot camera. but, because of it, they let us go up again for free! and since it was jackie's b-day, and she was in our group, she got to go too.
we waited what seemed like forever for the second jump. if you do 2 tandem jumps in the same day, you get to advance to the next level and jump on your own (look out san marcos, i'm comin in the future!). and if you get certified, then jumps are just $15 a piece.
for the second jump we went in the crappy plane, where we all had to sit on the floor. we went up to 15,000 ft this time and jumped, but this time the guy let me pull the cord! and when we got to the ground, a different direction wind caught us right before we hit the ground and made us run into the camera man! LOL needless to say, we got it all on tape and it was definitely worth every penny. if anyone wants to see the tape or pictures... leave a message.
now it's time to nap (i didn't sleep a wink)... and later i'm taking jackie to get her tongue pierced, and then we're gunna paaartaaay!
