This update is about nothing at all. It is all about the many random thoughts going through my head right now. So...
School was fun. I can't believe that I would ever say that. But my multimedia class is hilarious. We are shooting videos right now. We are supposed to shoot 10 different types of camera shots, but we have turned it into fun times. My group is me, Mr. Steve Hain, and Oscar. So Oscar's "shots" were all of me playing the guitar, being stupid. Mine were the most boring. I shot a bunch of random stuff. Steve's was the funniest. We basicly own that class. So his started off with free-style walking, which is basicly skating rails and such without skates. You might remember "SOAP" shoes...that is what those are for. So I was doing that, then we turned it into a story. I had 2 illegitimate kids (which might be the case already) and was a hardcore skater. I was doing dangerous stuff, then I ended up falling bad during a trick, and broke my leg. Because I could not get up and move (get back in the groove...) I ended up "jumping off of a cliff and "killing myself" in a dried up fountain (though at the end I say that I am not really dead). It was priceless.
Why is it that Much The Same rocks so hard? I have been listening to them all week, and they just keep rocking harder and harder. Even their old stuff (when they were Don't Look Down) rocks, and it's not nearly as great as their newer stuff. They have a song called Wish that they usually close their shows with, and it's incredible. You can go to
http://www.mp3.com/muchthesame and listen to it. It's so amazing. And they are such nice guys too. That is one of the reasons that you all should get into local bands. You can find a lot of really quality music, and know them before they "get big" and become rock stars. Plus, most people in local bands are really nice and take the time to talk to you...
...Except for me. According to one unnamed source that likes to post in guestbooks (I won't mention his name, but he is in a band from our area) I am a "self-centered, arrogant asshole" amongst other things. And check out this post that appeared on our guestbook not too long ago:
"You guys should call it quits. Haven't you realized after being a band for as long as you have that no one likes your music, nor do they like you so, therefore, you have no fans. You guys are the biggest losers who have started recording a full length cd about 2 years ago and haven't finished and probobly never will. What a waste of time and money. Its funny because you're going to put all that time and money into a cd that no one wants or will buy, except for your own family members. just to let you in on a hint, you guys have the worst reputation in our scene. No wonder you play with unoriginal and worn out Tooth and Nail bands. So next time you play any shows keep in mind the low attendence not only in the crowd, but for your band, because no one goes to see you guys play. Only then you will realize that you guys have been a band for way too long and should step a side for the new and better up and coming bands in the scene."
Mind you, this kid failed to leave his name, email address, or anything like that. I find it funny. People do that stuff all the time. I just find it amusing that someone would take time out of their day to spend on us. That humors me deeply. That someone is so "passionate" about their hate for us to do write that. But to each his (or her) own I guess.
Is anyone else pumped for Matrix 2? I wasn't a big Matrix fan before, but then I had to do a paper on the parallels that movie has to religion for my English class, and upon watching it over and over again, I realized how good it was. It is brilliantly made. Anyway...
5 days until the new Alkaline Trio record comes out! The song that is on right now is both my favorite and least favorite on the whole record. It is one of the best musicly, the way the song flows is awesome, and the melody is great. But, it happens to be the most blasphemous towards religion. So that sucks. This whole CD is different. It's very polished, which is very unlike Alkaline Trio, but in terms of the music, it is absolutely brilliant. It's a must-buy.
What is the deal with boxing/wrestling rings? Why is it called a ring? Usually rings are round. But even though it's called a squared circle, it's not. I don't get it.
Did anyone else ever see the old tv show/cartoon Bravestarr? I had a couple of videotapes that I recently found while cleaning my room. Good stuff.
Did you know that Gatorade was originated by an old trainer for the Florida Gators to give them more energy when they played football?
I'm done.
