Well, considering the fact that this is the good old LJ where snowflake means something else, nice try.

Meh...just because urban dictionary says so. *shrugs*
I've just never heard the term used racially.
We can disagree though.. have a good night.

But at the same time, I would say it's rather clear how the OP meant it. So saying the OP was using a racial slur doesn't quite cut it for me. Unless now all discussions of winter weather are to be deemed automatically racist.

I think that's what makes it stupid--overreaction due to a failure to remember context. Minor stupid, but still funny!

ICK. That sucks. My kitten is always hiding my meds. He loves pill bottles.

I just took my first (and only) pain pill for today, and I only have two left. And the clinic still hasn't gotten back to me. Bah! I'm starting to hate doctors again.

Not in the context of customers_suck, it's not. And it was clear from the post what kittylair meant. So, she was indeed being stupid.

Context. As others have pointed out, "special snowflake" is a term widely used in LJ-Land (particularly in C_S), so much so that most people get it. Anyone who thought that post was referring to the racial slur was either really ignorant of the norm of C_S or was looking to pick a fight.

As I said in a comment below this one, I was not aware of the racial usage of the word "snowflake". I always thought it was just a reference to the story about every literal snowflake being unique and special and you can never find two alike. I've seen THAT usage all over the net, not just on LJ.

Maybe the difference is the phrase "special snowflake" as opposed to just the word "snowflake". I don't know.
