Over in thequestionclub, gothstar wants help to find out how to eat more veggies. Unfortunately, she does not REALLY want to eat any veggies since she has neither the money, time or gag reflex to eat said veggies. There's not really any stupid in the comments, just a lot of "Um, eat them anyway" and "suck it up." The real gold is in all of her lame excuses, most ( Read more... )

I was the same way. I basically have forced myself to eat vegetables in the past few years, and now I actually *like* most of them. Except carrots. I fucking hate carrots. *blech*

Did you guys actually throw up though? Because I do, and if you figured out how to get through it I really would like to know.

Also, I haven't completely cut them out. I eat maybe 2-3 servings of fruit/veggies a day, which I know is not enough.

No, I didn't vomit, though cauliflower still makes me gag. But I eat it anyway, cause it's good for me.

I gag if I eat any kind of cooked orange vegetable. I've never actually thrown up, just because I never eat more than enough to see if it'll make me gag. I hope that makes sense, I mean that I'll try a bite of it and if I gag, that food goes back on the NO shelf for a year or two.

I have found that radically changing the texture really, really does help me be able to keep it down. I can eat pumpkin in pies, for instance, and sweet potatoes/yams in a 'casserole' type dish if it has a lot of eggs to make it more custardy and less cheap shitty paste texture. Maybe look for recipes that change the texture pretty drastically? There are a bunch of cooking communities on livejournal that could give you ideas for that.

I grate broccoli into pasta sauces and casseroles- when it's grated you don't notice it at all.
