That one reminds me of the people who call up to the police department (I'm a 9-1-1 operator and dispatcher) to have an officer come take a burglary report (meaning, the crime happened hours ago and there is no danger) and get mad when the officer isn't there in 10 minutes (sometimes less.) It's as if they expect the officer to be sitting at the end of their street just waiting for them to call.

It's even better when they do this on a Friday or Saturday night in the middle of summer when we probably have about 30 calls holding (and they're holding because we already have a ton of calls that officers are already on) and most of them are in progress crimes and many of those are definitely in the potentially seriously dangerous category.

But, hey, the world revolves around these people. I am often tempted to tell them, "OK, if it ever happens that you are being robbed by gunpoint or being beat up, I will make sure the officers know that you want them to go to the report calls first, because you don't want those people to have to wait like you did." Sadly, all calls are recorded, so I can't do that.
