"I find what you are saying about White people to be offensive!!!!"

Apr 05, 2007 23:04

I don't know if we can specifically snark comments here, but this was just too funny to pass up.

Newsflash, people! IT ACTUALLY IS SO HARD BEING WHITE!

I've seen the light. I have totally realised how hard it is to be part of the racial majority in part of the Western world. People keep calling me "raciest", dammit!

I love it when people on C_S randomly throw the race of a customer into their whiney posts. +5 if they write out ebonics/accents. e_e

That girl is a moron.

My favourite is when they say "this black guy HIS RACE IS TOTALLY RELEVANT OKAY" and then the only way it's at all relevant is that they type the whole exchange in ebonics.

C_S is full of the dregs of humanity, it really is.

Or when they're weirdly paranoid that they're being DiScRiMiNaTeD against by black people. I remember a guy getting his feathers all ruffled because some black woman didn't smile at him in a supermarket line or something. So, of course, he decided it was because he was WHITE and she was obviously TEH BITTER.

God, yes. Has it always been this bad? I swear for a while it seemed entertaining to me, but maybe that was just the fact that I had just stumbled upon it.

I KNOW. Good GOD. I mean, when I read that comment my first thought was, "okay, maybe he was just a bit weird". Not: "OH MY GOD THAT RACIST PIG! BURN HIM! BURRRNNN HIIIIIM!!!!"

I'm just waiting for everyone start listing how many black friends they have before making blatantly racist statements. :)

Oh my god, I remember him. He was going to cut in front of her in line or something and decided not to because "her eyes said, 'You'd better not mess with me, whitey'" or some other ridiculous assumption on his behalf.

exact words: "Your ancestors oppressed mine and therefore I can cut in line"

That's the guy! God, he was a racist idiot.

I have a Masters in Human Relations and I still lack this amazing, learned ability he has to read people's minds

*dabs a tear from my eye* Beautiful. Just beautiful.

I sometimes alter the spelling of words in overheard quotes to mimic the person's vocal inflections... ^_^; *Guilty*

Reminds me of the time my cousin told me about he and his coworkers trying to write out what Barbara Walters was saying. "Powicee Swashion" was what came out. Sometimes it's hilarious, but a lot of the time in C_S posts it's just distracting.

Yeah, there's vocal inflections and there's ebonics. ;)

True, true; just like someone's race is relevant. It usually isn't, but when it is, I wouldn't say anything. :)

Oh, because there isn't a ton of other mostly irrelevant information added to posts over there? Some people want to give more description then 'some guy' and race is one of those pretty noticeable traits up there with Height and Body Type, both of which are harder to notice in a car.

A lot of this crap wouldn't have happened if people didn't decide to make a big deal out of nothing. It saddens me when people see racism in everything. There's too much anger in the world already.

"Race" isn't always much of a description at all. For example, "black woman" can mean a range of things, from Venus Williams to Mariah Carey.
