in lieu of Marc's post, a clarification:
Degrassi is a kick ass TV show on The-N network (which during the daytime is called "Noggin," which are both owned by Nickelodeon).
acting kinda sucks.
the show's from Canada.
but no, the acting doesn't suck cause the show's from Canada - there's no correlation there.
it's just...damn good drama, kids. haha. and I'll admit, I like it.
I enjoy it in its somewhat suckiness and really get a kick out of the issues it goes into.
it's true too. they do go there.
by there, they mean they reach deep into your knickers and go there.
but it's one thing to say that like 'Showtime Nightly' or whatever goes there, this is quite different in that:
1) It's essentially Nickelodeon's own Dawson's Creek or whatever...you get the point.
2) The kids actually look like they're no older than high school students, which is different...and interesting... consider. Saved by the Bell. High school kids, yeah? Yes. Cotton Candy material? Yes. But Degrassi on the other hand? No. Hell no. It's the issues they deal with. Degrassi makes Jessie Spano's episode where she's O.D.-ing on those caffiene pills look like something out of Blues Clues. Degrassi, on the other hand, would make it so that Blue called Dora the Explorer a "triflin' biatch" for givin' brain to Bob the Builder under the bleachers before gym class...And then straight-up smack her in the jaw in front of the entire drama dress rehearsal.
