Geez, the kids are home already. Where has the day gone..
Forget the day, what about the week! Man!
Spring Break happened, but even before that that one painful Saturday happened. It started with my long and uneventful casting session for the training video I'm the casting director for. I had a good number of people contact me with interest, about half that scheduled an audition appointment with me, and only most of them actually showed. It was an unsuccessful casting session. Thankfully I had three people there to help me out, with all that there was not to do, to keep me company.
I went straight from that to work, which was alright. We're now being managed by different people, and they're stricklers on time. I don't mind it but that means I can't stay out with the people and party if I feel like it. I have to go back and change and then go out, without a Mardi Gras costume. Boo.
Jessi showed up at work, suprising me from a distance as I was dancing next to a five year old little girl. (It was cute) After I got off, she and I got in our hip hop clothing for the Magnum Pussoir (W)Rap party. She went Fly-Girl, I went 9-s Beastie Boys. We were one of the few who looked so dope in threads, and we had a pretty good time mingling and schmoozing.
Afterwards, she convinced me to finally go home.
Got an hour of sleep.
Then it was suddenly Sunday morning. I unloaded the car, packed it back up, and drove down to Sarasota to make a film audition. And I have to note that I am blessed by my wonderful friends; Perry let me stop at her place to drop off the cat and pull up my resume, Brandy gave me a jump drive so I could go get Kinkos to print it out, they both offered to have breakfast with me, and Max, oh thank you Max, gave me a later audition appointment. I got there, changed in the parking lot, went in, and auditioned. It went so-so, but I think it was still a good audition.
After that I changed back, drove around til I found some food (a large milkshake), and went to go chill with my friends. We went to a not-as-good-as-Siesta beach in hopes of not having to deal with a lot of people, but people were still there, and the water was cold, so I just layed on the beach and was content.
Eventually, I snatched up the cat again, and went home.
the Rest of the Week was uneventful. I spent a good deal of time with the family, something I haven't done since Thanksgiving, so that was very good. My mom and I went antiquing and shopping a bit, I had lunch with my aunt, and I just got to be in the company of everybody. It was good.
This past Saturday I resumed the casting project. I auditioned a few more people, and called back some. The director assured me that lack of attendance is common, and that we will make it work. By the end I felt pretty good about it, we have a cast list. I still gots some work to do though.
Then I had work again. It's like the same thing all over! 'Cept this time, we got to dance to the Temptations! Yeah, that's right The Temptations. Also, a really freaking good accordianist and his Nawlins jazz band. Fantastic music!
How is it Monday already?
