Another fantastic weekend!

I was a little rushed, and forgot a bunch of the stuff I needed, and missed my cue, but I bolted out of the apartment to go kidnap Jessi, find Will, and meet Matthew for an adventure. We were heading to MegaCon for the premiere of Ninjas Vs. Pirates, a film that I and some of me mates took part in. So we headed for the event and arrived a great deal later than every other person there, but we only needed to be there for a short time. (MAN the costumes that we saw there! I saw a stormtrooper, and Nightwing, and some weird looking fox thing.) We found where the film was being shown, which actually wasn't in the Con so I didn't bother to pay for anything. I was found by some friends in costume, we found our captain, found an extra crew mate, got our photo taken a few times.. then we headed back up to the screening room. Partly cuz we had a connection in and partly cuzwe were important, we got to the front of the line where we would occasionally yelled comments toward the anime group still in the room. We also amassed all the cast members who showed up (all pirates) and had more photos taken, but for us this time. Finally the director showed up and handed out copies of the film to people in line, and we took our seats for the Indie Film Expo. There were some great films, some not that great, and then there was our film. It was a hit, and we were excited to see it. Jesse rocked it on screen.

Afterwards the group went in different directions. Jessi and I went to her brother's going away party. It was also kinda the wrap party for the last film he DPed on, which I made an appearance in, so I knew the crew too. It was a great little party, and we all wished him the best in his trip and such. Then the remaining partiers went to his place and crashed the night. Next morning we helped him pack up and sent him on his way. Sigh.

Jessi and I continued our adventure by heading on over to Universal Studios for breakfast (I love that I can go to a theme park for breakfast). We decided we weren't in the mood for rides or anything like that, instead we decided to try to appreciate the stores and other little things that often go unnoticed in the park. I have to say we found some really cool stuff, and we only went through a quarter of the parks. My favorite part was the Suess Zoo, that was crazy fun!!

I went to work while Jessi continued park-going with Ben and some others.
Work was great, and I had fun. As always. This time though, my partner and I got mobbed for beads a lot. Everybody just reaching out like they're expecting donations. I got hit up by a group of about ten fiftenn-year old girls who apparently don't speak English, clawing for beads. But I tell everyone that they have to sing or dance or something, and just cuz you speak Spanish don't mean I can't. So I told 'em, and eventually gave a few of them beads, they moved to a different location. It was like that all night for me.
But it got a lot better at the last set. The parade performers were out so we hung around them, it was like a big costumed party! We danced around, got our pictures taken, entertained people, and oh yeah... Huey Lewis and the News was playing! That's right, not only can I say I have seen them play, I can say that I've seen them to an a cappella performance. They played "It's Hip to Be a Square"!! I escorted my partner back to our greenroom when we felt we had enough of staying out in the crowd, then the News did their encore of "Back In Time" and I ran back to the party crowd and had one last dance. It was a blast.

After work I chilled with some of the gang at the grill. There were three parties happening but I wasn't much in the mood for partying, just a little more hot chocolate. But when one of the hosts called me on my way to my car I changed my mind. Jessi (cuz she was still kidnapped) joined me at one of my HHN castmates' friend's Valentine's party. It was alright, but I got to see my friend blow fire, and that was awesome. We didn't stay long, leaving after dancing to "99 Luftballons".
THEN I called up my friend Jim and went to his party. We arrived, played his Guitar Hero, got to talking to this one guy about his band, and played some Pool. Good times. These guys were being creepy to Jessi, so I cockblocked them and we headed out soon after.
And I didn't know the number for the third party. But by that point it was three in the morning, so we watched indie videos on Fuse and fell asleep on the hideabed.
Almost 200 pictures to come.

Hooray for wearing the same outfit two and a half days!

film, fun, pirate, friends
