I just realized that tonight was homecoming. Completely forgot about it until I started wondering where everyone was and realized that everyone's out at the fraternities and having parties because it's homecoming. And meanwhile, I'm sitting up here in the hidey-hole, eating cereal and watching TV and ficcing. And not doing any homework at all except for maybe a little bit of Calc.
I fail.

In other news,
rainbowstevie deserves love and internet cookies for nominating Mind on the Job and She Sees Through Shadows for the CSI Fanfic Awards. Many, many thanks to you. I'm still somewhat baffled, however, by the fact that as of this writing I'm the only nominee in the Character Studies - Alexx category. Where's the Medical Examiner love, fandom?
(Also, can anyone enlighten me as to how I get the nominee banner in my userinfo?)
Speaking (sort of) of Alexx, I finally got around to watching the B side of the second disc of SVU season 2, and guess who's on it in "Paranoia"? S'right. Khandi Alexander plays Olivia Benson's mentor, and I have to admit after only seeing her as Alexx, it was a little weird switching gears and watching her as the increasingly defensive cop. She sold it, though.
I'm slightly ashamed to admit that one of my favorite parts of watching any Law and Order show is picking out guest stars I recognize and identifying what else they were in. It's a game: as soon as the guest credits start to roll, I start shouting out where I know the guest stars from. Thus far these past few days I've found Kate Walsh, Patti LuPone, Holt McCallany (I can't believe I didn't recognize him in Monk), Michael Emerson, Chris Cooper (who was ever so handsome back in Season 5), Khandi Alexander, Eric Roberts, Eddie Cahill, Julia Roberts, and Felicity Huffman, and that's just on SVU and TOS alone.
I may have few useful talents, but one of my many useless ones is that I run a kickass game of Six Degrees of Seperation.
I've finally talked Muse down from her PWP ledge, though she remains ready to leap back at the slightest provocation and the fact that there are no PWP Het nominees for CSI: NY and only one for Miami is not helping my efforts. For the moment, her energies have been redirected back into the strange land of vaguelysexy!fluff (from whence Mind on the Job sprang, incidentally), and frankly I've got no idea how we got here.
Expect a pinned post soon tracking my progress on ficathons, challenges, obligations, and random bunnies so I can get them all in by their respective deadlines.
But for now, I'm going to work on my Creative Writing assignment a bit more. And then I'm going to bed.
'Night internets.
