Five (and a half) brief and cryptic comments.

1. No more cocktails at lunch. It's a bad idea and it means you spend the entire rest of the day fighting off sleep. Don't do it.

(And it was fruit-filled sissy cocktail too. I'm even more of a lightweight than I thought.)

2. "A Little Less Conversation" is one of my favorite Elvis songs. I think this probably makes me a bad Elvis fan.

Also, one day I will visit Las Vegas, and then I will be able to write that story about the female Elvis impersonator on a metaphorical Grail quest. All my other old original fiction ideas were too cliched or too run-of-the-mill urban fantasy/fantasyland or too complicated to be workable, but dammit, I am holding on to this one like it's my job.

3. Once I finally start writing with intent again, I should work either on my unfinished WIPs (particularly Memory, as that requires, like, plotting and things) or on that Ben/Polly thing I've been toying with since forever. I should not write stories about talking frogs who quote Bible verses.

(I suppose I could write Ben/Polly fic where they encounter talking frogs.)

3.a. Dad and I finally, after about four hours, managed to update and sync my phone. Unfortunately, in the process, the three documents I had saved on my phone for portability (including that second chapter of Made Up Your Mind and a big ol' chunk of chapter 2 of Experiment) ended up irrevocably lost in the ether, which put me in an ill mood for most of the weekend. I knew I should have transcribed them. I have got to get out of the habit of typing things on my phone.

4. Finally caught the (third?) season finale of Burn Notice. Dammit, I think I might finally be starting to ship Michael/Fiona a little bit. I don't *want* to ship them; I was all proud of myself and stuff for not shipping the people the show told me to. But now I think I might be leaning that direction. Damn.

5. School starts in less than a week why why why. :(

I am not discussing politics right now on account of how I don't want my head to explode.

writing, life, epic fail, fanfics, burn notice
