well it wasn't more than a year ago that I was at the end of my senior year of high school, the glory days. Trip to the beach with friends, senior banquet, and graduation. Some of the most memorable times of my life (some of the most depressing as well). And now here I am...I've survived one year of college. I'm on the verge of a 5 weeks trip to Germany. My girlfriend of 20 months is still lyin on my bed asleep, dreamin sweet thoughts. I guess I really have nothing to complain about :-)
The last year has been an interesting one. It's had ups and downs of all sorts. But in the end I think I came out an even better person. College is everything I could imagined it to be. It's made me realize certain things about myself that I've had to cope with. I'm hoping next year I will be fully coped and I will have the opportunity to meet a lot of new people. This is also the year that I buckle down big time and look for an internship.
So Germany in 2 days. Going to Darmstadt to do a little "studying" lol. Getting the equivelant of 2 German courses there in only 5 weeks. Get to do a lot of cool trips. Berlin from July 5-8 (World Cup finals time!). I got in touch with the family I stayed with a few years ago and they're really excited to see me. I met a lady my dad knows that has a friend in Darmstadt. My oldest brother's going to be in surrounding countries while I'm there. I have so many opportunities. It's hard thinkin that I'm going to be away from Kat and my family and everyone in Derry for that long though. But when I return...things will be back to normal.
Reestablishment, that's what comes to mind when I think of coming home. There are going to be a lot of changes when I come home but it's more like changing back to the old.
My iPod works thanks to Kat's dad who is amazing.
I can't believe I'm going to be away from kat for 6 weeks...I hope she has an amazing time at camp and that I have an equally as amazing time in Deutschland.
I think when I get back I will be a very changed person and a much better German speaker. Maybe it will make me change my mind about the German minor.
Good night everyone, see you in a couple of weeks.
