Listen record the vocals

As we speak right now, Javed is putting down the vocals for "Little Princess" one of our rocker tunes, and the tune that was best received when we played the Varsity band comp. But this is the studio environment; we're no longer playing live. The notes need to be hit on the button, and they need to be hit at tempo - something Jav is having difficulty with - and I'll admit, it's something I had difficulty locking to when I was putting down the drums. That being said, I was listening to cuts of "World on your shoulders" earlier [our Oasis-flavoured song], and was immensely proud of how it sounded and it qiuckly dawned on me just how far we'd come, and also how far Jav's sound had come also. Everyone has been under the microscope musically speaking, and it's kinda playing without any clothes on - it's when "raw" talent...pun intended...really shines through...either that, or you get shown up as a hack.

It's interesting kinda thinking about the background history of "Little Princess" - to me, it sounds like Javed is singing about this girl Joanne that he used to like. One could argue that Jo comes from the "bling" culture...maybe "semi-bling". Anyway - she's the type of girl personified by "Little Princess" - a song about thinking that the girl was "all that" - but the truth is she may be all show, but no substance. The way Jav sings it - it sounds like a direct attack on Jo, and I for one, I'm loving it. Needless to say, I know Jo as well [Jo is Katherine's best mate, a girl I used to go out with] and she's not someone who I really appreciate...the title "Little Princess" is kinda a sarcsatic derogatory remark against those "Beyonce Knowles" types. This is dirty rock...it's hard, and it's fast and it's REALLY dirty. Great stuff.

Rant over.
