The past few days...

Well... My birthday wasn't too bad, I suppose.

Woke up, and cleaned around the house some, mom wished me a Happy Birthday. Drove Norman into work early, he did the same, after a talk in the car that consisted of him blabbering about the gift he got me, as if I didn't know what he was talking about. (I didn't get it yet, though... It's a mail order item..)

Called my Aunt Edna, and thanked her for the card. We spent some time on the phone chatting, and as soon as I hung up, Dad calls, and asks why we aren't there yet. No one from the hospital had called to tell us Dad was ready to be picked up. :/ Nice communication skills. While mom got ready and got his clothes together, I called Aunt Gloria. I thanked her for the card, and had to explain to her why I didn't call the second I got it (this seems to be an issue with people... next day is never good enough...) She didn't know dad was in the hospital, and just told me he hopes he gets better soon. Mom said Aunt Marilyn sent me a card... And I swear she didn't. Mike says I only got two, Mom says my aunt sent one two weeks in advance. But I would have remembered it, or atleast have called in advance. Late that night mom was on the phone and Aunt Marilyn didn't mention anything. She probably just forgot my birthday. lol.. Atleast I didn't feel bad about not calling her. :P

Dad was discharged in the morning, and I went to the hospital to pick him up. He's been fine since, just exhausted, but he says he feels better than he did.

The rest of the day consisted of me running around all over God's green earth. I took mom to the bank, woke Mike up, took him with us as we ran on our quest to find a Pearl store. I wanted one of those wooden manikins used in figure drawing. So we stopped at Menlo Park first... And let me explain this part.

I've been a member of Suncoast's replay rewards since 01, and I'm suscribed until 08 (not my choice, Norman paid for it to get a discount he wanted).

They just sent me something in the mail saying the program is ending.. and I get an "awesome deal" of 6 months of this new program. I called the number on the card, complaining that I have 2 years of money that's going somewhere... And the woman on the phone just told me, in layman's terms, that I was boned.

I was aggrivated... And decided to stop off at Menlo, since they have the closest Suncoast (aside from Freehold). So I went into Suncoast, and when I brought it up, the woman there thought she was a smooth talker, telling me I don't "need a refund because (I) probably already got all my money back in Replay Reward certificates". I was between at this point punching her, wanting to inform her that there's still two years on that card... Years that were paid for and money is money. She offered to give me this new card for 6 months, telling me it was a great deal, because 6 months is worth $12 or some shit. She kept trying to put me into the system after I insisted I didn't want it. And then she basically refused to give me my card back. By this point, I had trouble managing my anger. I kept trying to avoid eye contact with her (I'm like a dog, I can be mad, but without direct eye contact I'm less likely to explode). I explained to her that I don't want the card now, I don't even shop here, if I want the card I still have until the end of October to get it.

She eventually gave it back (after telling me what a great deal I'm missing out on, this shit is probably commission work and she can suck the shit out of my ass), and I left the store with one thought in mind - I'm calling the Better Business Bureau. The woman said Suncoat actually shut down, and FYE bought the name. The new buisness isn't actually obligated to do anything for me (refund or anything of the like), but I think I can try anyway.

Okay, so... We got pretzels. They were delicious. :D I bought an Orange Cream slush, and it was good too. Then we drove further down 1, to our destination, Pearl. They had lots of manikins there, but some where too small, some were too expensive, and some were broken. So I picked out a 16" model. The 12" was $15, so I was expecting this to be over $20 ($30 was my limit), so I asked the woman for that area, who looked it up in the computer, and lo and behold, it was only $13. A bit confused, but satisfied nonetheless, I went upstairs to pay..where it only wrang up at $10 and some change. Hmm.. But I wasn't complaining. I got my manikin, and I'm satisfied. :D

I just realized how much I typed. Jesus... :( I feel sorry for people who actually read my journal, and now I realize why they are so few in number. XD

So anyway... Today, went to the doctor for my chiropractor, went to the college to see why I didn't get my loan...and apparently I was rejected because I'm getting too much money this semester. When I tried to explain I need the loan for additional charges, the guy said, and I swear, he basically said, "But you're getting so much money from the state, they (I assume the college and the bank) look at it like this, with that much money you're getting for free, it means that you don't have the money to pay the loan back." ... But that's the STUPIDEST thing I've EVER heard. Don't you need money to go to school to begin with? So I'm getting federal aid, it's more than possible for me to incur other charges. Besides, I don't work full time during college, hell, I work less than part time, that's not enough to support myself. You assume that because we're poor, we can't pay the loan back? What about kids who have money (them or their families), and don't pay loans back? GRAH. It's a LOAN ANYWAY. If I don't pay it back THERE'S INTEREST. You guys should love that! Free money for you! :/

Anyway... I went into the bookstore to get my Ti-84 calculator, and at the register I discover, to my dismay, that the calculator is over $30 more than what it is at any other store. So I'm going to Walmart today to get the calculator instead. Mom said she'll pay for it until my aid comes in, then I'll pay her back. Works out fine for me. :D

Went to Petsmart, and got cat/dog/gecko food. Then we went to Shoprite to pick up a couple things. Mom wanted to get be a birthday cake, since I didn't get to celebrate my birthday on my birthday. I thought it was sweet of her to mention it, so I picked out a small one. At home, I did some garden work (that's right, I went out at after 7pm to pull weeds and cut some bigger weeds), and then went inside to shower and eat dinner. Grilled hamburgers... yummy. :D

And then they called me upstairs, where Mom, Dad, Mike and Norman all sang me happy birthday with a nice little "20" candle in the middle of my cake. I made a wish, gave out cake slices, and it was pretty damn good cake. Vanilla with a custard filling, but it wasn't as sweet as it sounds, and I like that. ^^

Other than that? Hmm... Nothing really. I'm happy now. Aside some aggrivations, things worked out. I have a busy day today.. Have to take dad to the doctor's, and then run over to a couple different stores (Walmart included) to pick up some items before school starts.

PS - We decided not to go the wedding. It's too far of a drive for dad (3 and a half hours, and then staying there overnight), so he already canceled. The only people actually going from our side of the family are Uncle Richie and his girlfriend Betty. o.O

And the poison ivy is still healing. I was put on Prednisone, an antibiotic/steriod. It dries the blisters from the inside, which is good.. and they don't itch anymore. :)
