The subject may sound and feel stilted, but thats only because the events considered are indeed mired in confusion, disorder and chaos. I do not remember if I have ever made my opinion of the continually saga of our military exercises in the Middle East public.
In all liklihood, I have, because it has been no secret to anyone anywhere that I do not support the United States having an armed presence within the Middle eastern boundaries. In fact, I am extremely vocal as to my opinion the "terrorist war" in Iraq, was simply an explosion of testosterones experienced by son bush, as to the threats experienced by PaPa Bush while he was engaged in his own "Iraqscape".
President Bush, the father, made a valiant effort to check tyranny while he halted the spread of the Iraqi's attempt to invade Kuwait, however he was forced to halt prior to cutting the head off the snake due to international politics.
The son, President bush, has made a disgrace and mockery of his Father's work through multiple miscalculations, misinformation, and massive mismanagement of the resources he has been empowered by the people to entrust.
In the begining, our invasion of Iraq, and yes, we did invade Iraq, has been a complete disaster. No one monitoring internation events and history can disagree with that summation.
There is no longer any way that we can disguise our efforts to anyone we have failed in Iraq fighting the war of terrorism, much less continue to assauge ourselves and our superiority to others, both militeristic and economic.
We must throw in the towel and surrender.
I do support our troops, but soldiers can not combat ideology with bullets, missles, tanks, or warships. The way to combat terrorism IS NOTthrough futher violence, additional violence can only serve to add the breeze to the burning embers of fallen cities fueling the flames of passion.
We do NOT surrender to terrorism, We simply state, the reasons for the United States to have a military presence in Iraq no longer exist. The head of the snake, Saddam Hussein has been captured and imprisoned, his government toppled.
The statement is short and concise, because my support is solid for our military forces, as well as my disdain and contempt for the efforts of the civilian community to manage a misspoken war. From the onslaught of the sudden invasion of a defeated nation, to todays fumbling efforts of managing a collapsed third world government when within our country our government(s), local and federal, are spiraling out of control is the bottom line we will fail in Iraq.
stay tuned for tomorrow's entry, I am on a roll. My silence has ended!
