Silver Dildo? Best gay club name ever!

I thought the Doug Fir was a terribly clever reference to historical queer author Douglas Firbank, but then I remembered that it's actually Ronald Firbank. Ah well.

And yes, since you ask, I am in fact incapable of responding to anything other than your fictional, or possibly nonfictional, bar names. :)

Nonfictional, actually -- this story is in large part my big sloppy tongue kiss to Portland, which I love intensely, so while the people are made up, the places will be real.

Silver Dildo: nickname for local gay bar/strip joint the Silverado.

Doug Fir: awesome restaurant, bar, and music venue the Doug Fir Lounge, whose decor my mother described as "Paul Bunyan goes to outer space." Attached to the equally cool Jupiter Hotel. Has the city's most inappropriately named menu item, aka the FirBurger (really tasty, though).
