Reading week is officially over. Tomorrow morning I will be waking up "early" in the morning and going to school. It's true that I didn't do much over my week long vacation but I just realized that I don't accomplish much going to school either. At least in the past week I've been able to do nothing in the comfort of my own home and waking up at whatever hour of the day suits me. So let's recap what I've done lately.
On Friday afternoon, immediately after class, Jason, Judy, Emily and I all dashed across the street and went down to the basement of Hudson's. We were joined by Tyler, Chris and Rachel, later on, we had food and some had a few drinks. The waitress screwed up our orders, Judy got a tender wrap instead of tenders and I got fries instead of a salad. We weren't impressed and not even her Lululemon shirt prevented us from reducing her tip.
Afterwards I went to Kenny's place for his birthday celebration. Denise had made dinner for everyone but since I went to Hudson's I had already eaten and was too stuffed to ingest any more. Denise immediately threatened to throw me out of the house for my poor planning. After she calmed down we all hung out, played some Wii and after enough time had elapsed Denise brought out the chocolate fondue set. Since I had time to digest I was ready to participate and, damn, it was indulgent. Following the feast of gluttony we chatted until 3am, when I choose to leave. As I was leaving I got a text from Jason reminding me that he was drunk. Apparently I missed a gaming session at Jon's house. Why does everything happen all at once?
Saturday, I woke up to a text message from Matt, whom I hung out with for most of the afternoon. That evening I phoned Nicole and we ended up watching Definitely, Maybe together. The movie was great; my favorite part was that you knew the story was being told to a little girl but when you start to forget that it would snap back to the little girl to remind you that this is a bedtime story. Following that we went to Moxie's for dessert and talked until it looked like they were closing.
Sunday, I spent the afternoon having lunch with my parents as usual. At around six, I went over to the Kyoto across from Garneau for dinner with Judy, Sherman, Jason, James, Andrew and Kevin. After the delicious meal and stories about cats, Jason and I walked over to Hudson to pick up Jon and Kris. We all made our way to the Jubilee to watch Video Games Live. It was just as impressive as last year, where they played a lot of new stuff and kept the stuff that everyone wanted to hear like Halo and One Winged Angel.
Some of us ventured to the Starlite room for the after party with the Faunts. The magician played his magical instrument but the most memorable part of the night was the DJ that played afterwards. It was some great electro house that even I danced to. There's interesting stuff on Jason's camera of Jon, Kris, Jill, Jacoba, Valerie and myself, which hopefully will never reach the light of day.
Monday was boring since my only plans for the day was to go see Jumper, which never happened. Tuesday was my rest day, which also consisted of nothing.
On Wednesday, I went to WEM with Tiny and did a bit of shopping. I picked up some nice hoodies, a shirt, a jacket and a pair of jeans. I made the discovery that as far as upper body apparel goes, I have pretty good taste but my taste in jeans is despicable. I tried on a pair of jeans that I wasn't a fan of. Tiny said it looked good and the sales lady said the same thing, but can they really be trusted? So I turned to a pretty girl who was waiting for her boyfriend and asked her what she thought. She replied in the same manner as the others. So I listened and bought the jeans; I do everything for the ladies anyways.
On Thursday, I went to work and spent most of it doing a ridiculously long quiz that I never finished. I read so many SOPs and work instructions that I felt like I would explode if I endured another five minutes of it. After work, Jason and I walked to Brewsters and began a night of berry beers and merry cheers. We would be joined by Tyler, Judy, Lianne, Chris, Rachel, Kathy and Jason M and as each of them arrived I would point out that the waitress was from Thunder Bay. We played drinking games listing movies, games, and song names and moved to Hudson's after a while. It wasn't much of an improvement so we left soon after we arrived and headed home, where I would be yelled at by my mom.
Friday and Saturday were dull. Though on Saturday night, I went out at 2am to pick up and drive Matt home. That was kind of pointless and I don't know my motivations for doing so but I did it anyways. Sunday was just like a normal Sunday, readying me for the return to school. Lunch, studying and pool.
And now, we return to our regularly scheduled programming.
school,
movies,
music,
work,
life,
games
