Today my team treated me ... Alright, today my team treated itself to lunch, a movie and alcoholic beverages. Lunch was served at Cocoa's, the restaurant in the Delta Hotel. It was less served as retrieved seeing as it was a buffet. I, of course, stuffed my face silly and exemplified to my fellow co-workers how fast and efficient I am at eating. I was tempted but I refused many-a-deserts. I am proud of myself.
Afterwards, we were treated to a round of Ghost Rider. I voted for Pan's Labyrinth but in the end I think it worked out best. Ghost Rider is an easier movie to watch. Since the demographics of our group ranged from the young interns to senior developers to moderately aged employees :D I'd have to say such a mindless movie was a better choice.
And a mindless movie it was. The beginning was super slow, much like many other comic book movies EXCEPT for Batman Begins. The plot wasn't that deep, the bad guy needs something and Ghost Rider has to stop him. What's surprising to me is how quickly Johnny Blaze figured out all his powers. He transformed and automatically he knows how to kill things. That carny is a fast learner. If nothing else, at least Eva Mendes decided to wear the same cut for all her shirts. The one that goes low and shows some excellent cleavage, and excellent it was.
After the mediocre movie, if you went in expecting a bad movie, we went out for drinks. Got a pint of Keith's and Grasshopper. It's been a long time since I had a drink and it feels good to down a couple pints. Of course, I had fun company. My team is always fun to hang around and when we just chill out and talk there are some good conversations to be had. Eventually some of the senior members of the company steered the conversation towards work and that disinterested me.
That was the end of my work day. I love what I do, where I work and the people I work with.
