It has been almost a year, and what a crazy frakking year it has been.
In the last year, these big things happened:
1) After losing job, got hired back as a temp, ended assignment, got new job at textbook company, faced incredibly hostile environment for many months before a sudden change and things got good and I got respect but didn't get a full-time job. That ended again last week. Boooo, whore.
2) We became homeowners. That is official as of today, thankyouverymuch. It's extremely nerve-wracking considering 1), but it's also exciting. We paint on Sunday.
3) My dad was in a massive car accident, after which they diagnosed him with cancer. After months of chemo and a big surgery in Houston, it seems he's in remission. It was a frightening time.
4) Took a real vacation for the first time since Hawaii in 2006-ish, and this travel involved NONE of the family. Awwwwesome. We hit Chicago for my birthday and San Francisco/Napa for our 5th anniversary.
5) I was in three (THREE) car accidents, none of which were my fault and two of which required about $6k of repairs each. Thankfully, the car wasn't totalled at any point. The last one, on December 31, screwed up my shoulder and I'm in physical therapy for a damaged rotator cuff now. Awesome.
So a year of big ups and big downs. I'll try to be more communicative in the future. Cheers.
