Unmanned by the Power of Roddick

Sep 01, 2008 01:17

There's nothing like a great week of tennis to get over a lousy bunch of news. This weekend especially had some amazing matches, including two fantastic Ashe showstoppers from my boy Roddick. Now if they would just stop showing that bored whore in the stands...

Prison Break starts tonight! OMG you guys. I am just... I am just. That's all I got. I've been soaking up Wentworth Miller/Sarah Wayne Callies interviews and tons of (albiet mostly terrible) fanvids on the Tube in antsy preparation. Could not be more excited for the premiere of a show I literally thought I'd never feel anything for again. Good show, show!

OTH starts as well, I've managed to stay fairly spoiler free, unlike last year - the spoiler orgy. All I hope is that Lucas called Peyton and then everything else will play out however it will play out. Seriously, they'll have a lot of crap to work out, but really, let's not pretend Leyton isn't endgame. Or at least not in my presence :D

On a politcal note, I've ranted plenty about my thoughts on McCain's choice of VP elsewhere. Let's just say I have nothing good to say and leave it at that in favor of something positive.

There haven't been a lot of times I've been proud to be an American as of late. Our government has put us in the shit hole in foreign relations, not to mention the dissention on home soil. Watching Barack Obama's acceptance speech, I felt hope for this country for the first time in eight years. He not only speaks of change, but holds the conviction and drive to actually implement it. To put aside partisan politics and work for the country as a whole, not just for one party. On that night, what he said was true - we are all patriots, and will continue to be, with a leader who believes in this country enough to fight for it.

prison break, one tree hill, andy roddick, politics, tennis
