HAI TORCHWOOD FANDOM
I've been watching Torchwood since I first followed Jack there from Doctor Who, and I loved the first two series completely. I was also perplexed that Ianto and Jack didn't share a "I'm so glad your OK" hug after the concrete scene. We saw Ianto hug Jack after he found out he died at the hospital. Wouldn't Ianto hug Jack right after the trauma he had witnessed himself. It doesn't make sense.
Finally I have been wondering about the original script. I had read that originally Martha was supposed to be in COE. But the Freema backed out because of other commitments and they had to do a lot of quick rewrites.
I can't help but wonder what the original script was like. Was Lois Habiba a replacement for Martha? Instead of the British government pulling the "cover up" was it supposed to have been Unit that was originally involved with the 456? That would have made a lot more sense. Was the but kicking woman role assigned to both Martha and Gwen thus making Gwen a little less like Wonder Woman? Were there anymore Heart to Hearts between Jack and Martha or Martha and Ianto that could of helped us understand what was going on in the Jack/Ianto relationship?

I actually thought about Martha being in Lois's role as I was watching. I doubt that UNIT would ever have been in control, since the drama centres around Frobisher being given the burden of responsibility for dealing with the situation. I'd guessed that Martha would have been one of the UNIT uniforms in the background.
I find it fascinating to wonder if Jack would have ignored Martha as he did Lois, if it'd been Martha calling to him from the prison cell.
