This is a very useful article. Obviously the auto insurance system has not caused nearly as bad a mess as the health insurance system, largely for reasons presented by the author of the article. Nonetheless, I would argue that mandatory car insurance has made auto repairs more expensive than they would be if car insurance was not required by the government, for reasons stated in my Anti-Insurance Manifesto.
