Once upon a time we fell apart
You’re holding in your hands
The two halves of my heart
It wasn’t supposed to be like this. Fighting everyday over nullities. Jane couldn’t take it anymore. It was too much. And it seemed like Thor wasn’t happy about the situation either.
Jane didn’t know why she said the following but nonetheless she did. “What is wrong with us?”
Thor looked at her, some of the anger in his eyes disappearing and said, “I don’t know. I never wanted any of this. Seeing you like this…unhappy…because of me.”
“I don’t know if this…we…have a future”, Jane said suddenly and seemed shocked about her own statement.
Thor’s head snapped up and his eyes landed on Jane. “What? But I thought…”
“Cause you really hurt me….”

I can’t promise you that I won’t let you down
They were fighting more and more in the last week it seems. She knew when he decided to stay with her, things would get tense. He’s still adjusting to this new life he shares with her now but the anger inside him gets the best of him every now and then.
Jane is angry with him and she wants him to feel it. No matter what happens, when he sees her being furious with him he immediately regrets whatever he has done. She’s the first woman he cares about deeply and he’d make damn sure to keep it this way and show her.
“I’m sorry”, he says and looks her directly in the eyes. She’s unsure of the next thing she says but it’s out anyway, “You’re stuck here with me. You’re bound…bound to the ground and you’ll have to arrange with that…or you’ll lose me.”
Casting love on me as if it were a spell I could not break
When it was a promise I could not make
But what if I was wrong?

so cold - thor/jane au | inspired by Ben Cock's "So Cold"
Oh,you can hear me cry
See my dreams all die
From where you’re standing
On your own.
He had never seen her so sad and hated it because he knew he was the reason for the state she’s in.
“I’m so sorry,” he said as a first approach to right things.
“That doesn’t mean anything to me…not anymore.”
Thor hung his head and the small space of the car seemed to shrink even further. It was almost unbearable to be in the car with Jane who had silent tears streaming down her face. And in this exact moment he knew he would never be able to fix this, their time was over. But he couldn’t lose her.
Suddenly Jane looked up and asked, “Why? Why did you do this to me?”
“Jane, I…”
“No, no wait…wait! I-i don’t wanna hear it, it’s too much. I have to go. I can’t be with you right now.
“Please, please don’t…Jane, please, I’m begging you don’t go,” he said and his eyes teared up.
“I can’t figure out why…why you did this to me?! Sleeping with her. It’s like our relationship never meant anything to you.”
“You know that’s not true. I love you!”
“No. This is it. I’m out! Being with you no longer feels like home.”
He could only watch as Jane got out of the car and slammed the door shut.
In a last attempt to stop her he said, “Please, I need you. Please don’t go.”
But she was already out of reach.
It’s so quiet here
And I feel so cold
This house no longer
Feels lïke home.

somebody made you cold - thor/jane au | inspired by Five Finger Death Punch's "Walk Away"
Just walk away
Make it easy on yourself
Just walk away
There’s just nothing left to feel
It was the first time she saw him in months but there was coldness in his face that she hadn’t seen before. He was like a different person and certainly not the man she fell for in the blink of an eye.
She eyed him from head to toe and from the differences she noticed she figured it must’ve been a longer time for him than for her. She didn’t want to make assumptions but half a year won’t do.
So instead of a heartwarming hug or a kiss all she got is a cold stare and a body in fighting position. A quick glance to his right hand showed her that Mjolnir is already in his vice-like grip, ready to strike if necessary.
“What happened to you?”
He looked at her, his blue eyes seemingly looking right through her and said, “You have no idea who you’re dealing with.”
Even though her tears threatened to spill, she looked him right in the eyes, head up high and said, “Somebody made you cold.”
After that she turned to walk away from him. A last glimpse over her shoulder showed her that he made no move to follow her. The tears fell down her face now and her pace quickened.
And she was sure he’d never follow her again.
Just walk away
Make it easy on us both
Just walk away
There was never any hope
Just walk away
You already know the deal
Just walk away
Pretend that none of this
No, none of this was real

It doesn’t seem real. She can’t be dead. She can’t be…
This morning they were waking up next to each other, Jane smiling at him and raining kisses down his face. Now she’s just an empty shell lying lifeless in front of him.
How did he let this happen? What has gone wrong?
Thor doesn’t know what he should do now. But he knows one thing for sure: he won’t be able to fix his biggest mistake. The loss of Jane Foster is and always will be the worst thing happening to him.
Loki is clueless how to handle the situation. Lady Jane, as he used to call her, is no more. He loves - loved her like a sister, she was the one he could always rely on.
But Loki knows one thing: his brother will never be the same again. The way he behaved around her had him in awe. He has never seem him like this and it amused him more than once. Now he’s afraid for his brother’s sanity.
This day wasn’t supposed to end like this. He never thought the day they were to celebrate a glorious won battle would be the day they mourn the loss of Jane Foster.

There are many people in the Great Hall of Asgard and they all came to pay their respects and say goodbye to their queen.
Loki knew it would be far too soon for Thor to witness his beloved being buried but he insisted. And who was he to tell him otherwise in this situation? Loki tried to support his brother as much as he could and his own feelings had to wait in line but lately he finds himself more and more sad.
Seeing Jane now, lying in her coffin, her hair carefully braided with ribbons and flowers makes him even more mournful. She looks beautiful though, like she is sleeping.
Loki takes a look at his brother who has been silent the whole time. He was right, Thor isn’t the same anymore. He looks downcast, a single tear running down his face. Thor blames himself for her death and Loki doesn’t know what to do anymore.
Mea culpa - My fault
