does anyone live in LA, or has anyone been to LA recently?

we'll fly into LAX, stay in LA somewhere, go to Burbank for the taping, and then back to LA.

places to stay?
modes of transportation (cab)?
what to see (if you only have 2 days)?
pretty limited budget.
