At this point, I feel comfortable saying that Lost is a good show.
I understand everything except this:
why is it so important that Claire raises her son, and not anyone else? Kate ended up raising him, and then presumably Claire's mom, and everything turned out fine. So what was that about?
I'm also a little vague on the numbers. Since I saw them in the cave, I've been assuming that they were calling out to the world to bring the six candidates to the island. But since there were at least 42 numbered candidates, I don't understand what makes the last six so special, as opposed to the last five or seven. Or especially the two who turned out to matter.
