Random Things
Random observations before I do that last push of work before SDCC...
There were some interesting trends at Anime Expo this year:
* Lack of signs. The sign ban musta worked, which is nice. No more soliciting glomps, money nor sexual favors.
* Not so much glomping in general. Again, a plus.
* Many more cross-dressers. And half of them were beautiful! Eat that, Man-Faye. I got nothin' against funny-lookin' cross-dressers, but you're vulgar too. I'm glad I missed you this year.
* I missed the Hygiene Ninjas. Some people could have benefited from the deodorant and soap hand-outs and a nice spray of Febreze. I suppose maybe they worked stealthily and I didn't actually SEE them, but they did miss a few places.
* Volunteers. Bless 'em for their dedication to the cause, but they can be a bit too literal with the tasks that they're given. In the past I haven't had a bad experience with them, but I think it was saved up for this year. BTW, if I have to get your attention to check in my tote before entering the art show and you let me go in, I'm sure as hell not going to trust you guys to watch my purse and wallet after the fact. I seriously doubt you guys are bonded for theft.
On other topics, it's hot here. And there are flash flood warnings. Last night when we came home from seeing "Hellboy" it had apparently rained pretty hard. The really trippy part was seeing the cold rain turn curl into steam when it hit the hot asphalt. The humidity has been messing with all of us.
They've been waiting for about two weeks, but I finally finished a bunch of earrings. It's gonna be a while before I do any product photography (I'm really lousy at it) and put them up on etsy. If anybody wants to buy a pair and want to spare me having to take pictures, let me know...
