Update

Been a while, huh? I've been busy; mostly in good spirits. Since I only normally only post when I'm emotionally down, I think you can see where this is going...

It finally caught up with me. I was on my way to work this evening and drove right by a cop at the corner of College Ave and Bizzel. My nerves went blank and my hair on end as I made the turn onto Bizzel and watched the cop car move from its perch to follow me. My pulse raced like hell and I started convulsing as he pulled behind me while I was stopping at the intersection with New Main. When the lights began flashing, all I could do was scream "FUUUUUUUCK! NO NO NO NOOOOOO!!!" and tighten my grip on the wheel in the uttermost frustration I have felt in years. :-(

I thought I was completely fucked. I had joked with many people in in the car with me over the last few months that if I were pulled over without insurance, and expired registration and inspection stickers, I would probably be arrested and have my SUV towed away. Hence my temporary loss of verbal control and onset of nervous tremors. Fortunately (OH the irony), the ordeal went smoothly and I simply walked away with 3 citations and an extreme sense of bitter anger at myself and the situation.

And then the fear; the fear of knowing I was now going to have to call my parents and tell them what happened, and in the process admit my stupidity in putting and leaving myself in this situation for the last several months. The calls went smoother than I expected; I guess that just comes with age and "maturity" - I use this term loosely since I obviously haven't matured enough to respect the law. They were obviously disappointed in me, and told me what I had done was very stupid and I needed to take care of this ASAP.

Ah well, live and learn. I'm going to hopefully take care of these three things over the next few days and maybe I can get the citations dismissed in court. My dad is a defense lawyer who handles dumbass kids like myself all the time, so I'll be taking all my advice from him; please don't take it personally if I blow off any advice you might try to give me. I'll update on the end result, assuming I don't have to pawn my computer equipment to pay for these things. ;/

In other news, my Spring 2007 semester didn't go so well, and I ended up with a rather crappy 1.85 GPA. However, I made up for it in the Summer with a 3.66 GPA. I attempted to finally sign up for EE courses this Fall, but was just sent an email from the EE senior Advisor telling me I couldn't take them until my overall GPA was > 2.85 - It's currently a 2.11, so I need to make something similar to this Summer's grades if I want to finally move on. I know I can do it; I just have to find some easy courses and/or retakes to boost these numbers.

I worked at Fedex for two months this Summer, doing manual labor five mornings a week from 4am-8:30am. It payed well, but I had to quit because I not only got really sick after already giving my two weeks notice, but I couldn't possibly do the work and go to school at the same time. I got a phone/cubicle-farm job at the PPRI and enjoy the work and hours.

However, I won't be able to use my vehicle over the next few days and have no idea how I'm going to get around now. If anyone is in BCS and can offer me rides for a few days, I'd be most appreciative, but I doubt anyone is willing.

*sigh*

I'm trying to get Kim to visit me this weekend and even offered to pay her gas for the trip, but since this ticket thing is going to be a total financial downfall, I'm not sure I'll be able to do that now. I guess I'll find out mostly tomorrow. I miss her greatly. ;)

Also, Patrick bought a new house in Bryan, and I moved in with him and John. It's fun so far; three mostly social hermits living under the same roof. I'm the worst, of course. :-P

Hope everyone else is doing well, and best of wishes to you all. :-D
