Derby Day Minus Four
The Kentucky Derby is this Saturday! I just realized this! Granted, it's always on the first Saturday of May. For 135 years. This is not a surprise. But May is on the next page of the calendar, and I'm on this page of the calendar, and... Skipping the race on purpose, fine. Missing it because I didn't see it coming, ridiculous! There was an era in my life that I reread The Black Stallion's Filly every year at this time. :-)
I've had calendar issues the past few months. I used to obsessively mark off days; I didn't feel right if the days weren't marked off correctly. Now, I'm marking them off at work, of course, but at home, my calendar is hardly touched. That isn't right.
