Well, I paid $10.25 for a ticket to the X-Files movie today. I wish I'd saved my money. Not because the movie is bad! I wouldn't know. I haven't seen it.
The electronic schedule board was malfunctioning, and the theater hadn't posted any other schedule in its place. I asked when the next showing was; I heard "-:15" and bought a ticket. The printed ticket said "-:50." That extra thirty-five minutes, especially just at that time, would have thrown off my schedule, and felt too valuable to waste -- but mostly just felt like a trick. I hate surprises. So now I'm feeling ill-used and stupid both, and generally pretty bad. I wish my brain worked just a little differently than it does.
I told the cashier to give the ticket to someone else. I hope she does.
So, please continue not spoiling me until the DVD comes out. Thanks.
