[reading a thick book] It would seem that reading this capsule manual has hardly done the sort of good I was hoping it would. These old models are so very out of date. I can see why they were decommissioned. The upkeep alone requires such horridly rare materials that it would be far too much of a hassle to own one.

Normally I would agree but in this case one would suspect that it should have simply fallen to pieces by now. Therefore there must be something special about this particular situation.

I thought if I am to be his assistant and share this TARDIS with him, I should know the inner workings properly. But it's dreadfully dull, especially in comparison to the newer models.

I don't believe I've met you before. Are you an acquaintance of the Doctor's?

I'm afraid we are somewhat busy at the moment. I should like to have a proper TARDIS of my own one day, however.

[beams because he used her full name] Yes, that's right. I do hope you don't find it to be too much to handle, as far as names go. [extends hand] And yours?

I am due to get one after this whole business is over, so I'm not frightfully concerned.

I actually am fond of 'Fred'. It has a very nice sound. [shakes his as well and ponders] That name does sound a bit familiar. A renegade friend, I imagine? Either way, it is a pleasure to meet you. I hope my company will suffice for the time being.

I am his required assistant for an important mission from the White Guardian. We are to find the Key to Time. It's actually rather exciting.

I am one of the finest students the Academy has recently produced, Master. I am perfectly capable of handling such a task. Though, at times the Doctor can be somewhat...peculiar.

Ah, I see. That, I'm afraid, is simply that the White Guardian thought me best suited.

I had read up on the Doctor and learned of him before actually traveling with him. I hadn't expected him to be quite as immature as he can be. Not to say he is not what the rumours have said. He certainly is brilliant despite his marks in the Academy. But I was expecting someone with a more...professorial air.
