[reading a thick book] It would seem that reading this capsule manual has hardly done the sort of good I was hoping it would. These old models are so very out of date. I can see why they were decommissioned. The upkeep alone requires such horridly rare materials that it would be far too much of a hassle to own one.

Oh, this manual? It's a technical manual for operating and maintaining a Type 40 TARDIS.

You have a TARDIS?

Oh, no, this isn't mine. I certainly wouldn't want such an old and temperamental one. There are much nicer models out now.

I didn't even know there was more than one.

Have you not yet been to the Academy?

What academy?

The Academy, of course. The great Academy of Gallifrey. I assume you are not Gallifreyan, then.

I am, though. I think. It's a bit complicated.

Is that so? Have you been raised off-world, then?

Yeah, I have, in a manner of speaking.

I see. Well, in that case, you should try to return home to Gallifrey. The Academy is the center of knowledge for the universe, really. All the brightest attend it and it's certainly quite the experience. It will prepare you for your future.

What is your name?

I could always ask Dad, but I think we'd be too busy saving things to get there anytime soon.

I'm Jenny. What about you?

Your father sounds like he's rather irresponsible to take such a detour in your schooling.

I am Romanadvoratrelundar. It is a pleasure to meet you, Jenny.

He teaches me a lot, though. Stuff that the Machine didn't teach me.

Nice to meet you, too, Romanadvoratrelundar.

'The Machine'? An android tutor? Those were rather fashionable a few years ago.
