the wind in my hair and freedom in the air..with nothing but the unknown ahead of me.

this past weekend has the been the funnest weekend i've had since i've first arrived here. and it was simplicity.

friday night, after classes, we went to walk along the drag so i could buy a shirt for the TX vs MO game this weekend. then teresa, both mayras and i went to the barton creek mall. i nearly cried as we walked into western civilization, lol. i haven't been anywhere off campus since i first got here, so it was great to feel normal again. we walked around and i bought a new cover for my phone (it has cherries on it) then we went to see "Taxi" with jimmy fallon & queen latifah. jimmy fallon is such a cutie. and the movie was decent. sort of dragged on before it got to the point, as most of the new movies out today do.

then our friends moneel & jonathon picked us up around 11:30 and we all crowded into moneel's lancer and drove around the austin hillside. it was so beautiful. we were laughing, dancing, screaming, speeding, and lost. haha. it was pitch black out and usually, i'd be nervous as hell, but i was fine in the backseat, the windows down and the cool air making my hair go nuts. then we finally got back to campus, headed to mayra's dorm and drank until 3am, lol.

saturday afternoon, teresa and i headed to the Texas Union to eat some Taco Bell, but it was closed, so we decided on Baja Fresh (the best food i've had here in Austin!) and saw Jonathon on the way. then we called mayra and headed over to the restaraunt. when we were done, we called moneel and he came to finish the leftovers (haha) and then on impulse, we made an executive decision to go back to the mall, lol. i actually bought a shirt from JC Penny's and my favorite perfume, Pink from Victoria's Secret. Afterward, we drove home again, and it was blissfully carefree, but this time we knew where we were going so the car ride wasn't so long. then I stayed in the rest of the night to do homework and laundry, but only got laundry done.

and today, moneel picked us all up again and we went to this place called the Waterloo to buy tickets to the switchfoot concert. I'm sort of excited, even though I'm not a huge fan of them. but teresa loves them, so it should be fun. it's november 13, i believe. and then i rented the movie (for free, i might add) from the dorm video collection "The Truth About Cats & Dogs" and watched it alone in the room. I love this movie so much. it's like the 94032984234th time i've seen it, but it gets me everytime. and now i'm finally trying to get started on my essay due tuesday. it's my paper on 'sin' for my "western concepts of sin" seminar. then i have another paper, for educational psychology, due friday. then, i have my midterm for biology on wednesday, and a midterm for my seminar class on thursday.

i'm so happy i had fun before the beginning of ''hell week'' that dawns tomorrow.
