It's the Holiday Season...

Happy Thanksgiving

to everyone in a belated sort of way.  I was in Chicago for the holiday to see my Grandparents (No Internet).  They have reached that inevitable slowdown of old age- One that they have avoided longer than many, but alas things must change.  Talk of family meetings has begun, and subtle hints were dropped "You should should think about someplace smaller...etc"  I stayed decidedly detached from these conversations as it is not my place to say anything.  Rather, I just tried to help out in the kitchen and around the house.  I had some time alone with my mind a rarity these days) and had a sort of nostalgic meditation on my childhood, and my life as it stands:

I've had it very good.  I've been very blessed by whatever may be out there, and I just want you all to know how thankful I am for my friends.

For the first time in 9 years I am not working in a retail environment for the Holidays.  I am overjoyed.  I plan on listening to christmas music.

And now for the best news ever...

NEW YEARS PARTY!

1. Make plans to attend if you will be in Omaha.
2. Bring Champagne etc...
3. You will get to eat an assortment my cooking,  as well as Suzie's Cheese Dip.
4. Everyone is welcome to stay the night.  I have one Queen-sized guest bed and two couches (one is a foldout) plus plenty of floor.
5. Biscuits and Gravy and Mimosas on New Years Day!
