I'd thought this would be an unstructured weekend, with nothing more on my calendar than doing the radio show, going to the gym, and pushing the Russian out the door to the game store to see if he can find anyone in his demographic to play D&D with. Maybe do some tidying, maybe buy a vacuum, maybe play Katamari on the PS3 the Russian has recently acquired.
Now I'm having to revise that plan.
1) There's a dance event (MECDA Swap, Shop, and Shimmy) on Saturday. It's not too far from my house, and Queen B is going, so I think I'll try to make it.
2) Got an email from an old troupe mate today who's got a dance opportunity on Tuesday and wants to do the troupe's short drum solo (in addition to another super-cute solo of her own that she's already got in her back pocket). She's hoping I can help her remember the choreography with a cram session on Friday and/or Sunday. And she's offered to pay for the assistance as a private lesson. That's tempting, but I have the feeling it wouldn't be right to charge her. If she wants to recommend me for private lessons for other people, though, I'll happily accept that favor.
3) Cousin Aurora asked me to be the social marketing maven for her catering business. She's hooked up with La Cocina and their marketing department. We had a conference call on the Thursday after I got back from Ohio after which they sent me a bunch of info. I've just gotten a follow-up email wondering how it's going along, so I guess I need to spend some part of this weekend getting it going along.
4) I'm sure other stuff will come up as the weekend progresses.
[ETA one that I forgot]
5) A friend asked me to look over his research proposal before he sends it off to the guys in white coats and all the letters after their names, them which hold the keys to the office doors of the ones that hold the purse strings. Another educational editing experience.
