I was going to make a list of things that suck lately. As I was composing it in my head, I realized the list was too long, too depressing, and too exposing of my own idiocy. So, let's focus on the positive and the neutral:
- Attended the "Yoga for Runners" workshop. Found it informative and challenging, and sweaty. Afterward, Edna handed out vouchers for free classes, so now I can return to the studio sometime soon, and perhaps drag others with me.
(Bonus: Small class size meant plenty of individualized attention and adjustments, though it is funny that both of the workshops I've been to lately have somehow managed to provide a platonic reason for someone's head to end up between my legs.)
- I have updated my resume, and with remarkably little effort.
- I stood next to a guy on Monday who absolutely reeked of pot. (I would say more about that, but don't want to accidentally reveal his identity.) I rather miss mind-altering substances. (Nothing too heavy, a joint and a cocktail would do.)
- I have discovered a couple of local television repair places that make in-home visits, so I wouldn't have to worry about hauling the thing into the car, out of the car, into the shop, out of the shop, into the car, out of the car, etc. Now I just need to find someplace that might be able to repair my stereo system.
- I responded to an email I got two months ago on OKC, and the person actually wrote back.
(Bonus: He's, like, way younger than me so I momentarily wondered if he completely missed the fact that I'm ancient, but a quick scan of his profile indicates that he doesn't mind old chicks.)
- I may actually get around to interviewing my mom for a radio piece this weekend or week. Make that: I will interview my mom this weekend or week.
- Byrd gave me a shout-out during his show this morning. (No doubt just filling the promo requirement, but still.)
- Though I would prefer rain, to match my mood, the recent run of sunshine has allowed me to spend more time on the bike lately.
- I hit the footrests on the rowing machine with some WD-40 and now they are not so screechy.
- One of the new students who came to class a couple of weeks ago returned this past Wednesday and brought along a friend. Also, I got an email from another newbie who's interested in dropping in. Also, I got an email from a woman who used to be in the troupe and she's interested in dropping in, too, and plans to bring a friend. So this is great motivation to firm up the movement drill and come up with some choreography. The studio holiday party is next month and it would be awesome if I could actually slap some troupe dances into our class performance time slot.
(Bonus: this may actually be the best news I've had all week. I'll just focus on that.)
