"Now that I was willing to go to jail, what could I do?"
Just heard this in a snippet of an interview on
KPFA this morning. That quote may not be exact--I've had other stuff running through my head since 45 minutes ago--but that's the bones of it.
I like it because it reminded me... actually it reminds me of another quote from Inglourious Basterds. That one [also more or less paraphrased]:
"...the lengths people can go to when they are willing to give up human dignity."
I just always find it interesting to remember what people are capable of when they reset their baseline. Like, what protesters are capable of when they've decided to be less safe, that whatever principles they've got are worth being jailed for, or dying for.
