goings-on on the radio email list

May 14, 2009 09:41

This email cracked me up this morning. And also reminded me that, now that it's likely there will be someone in the 3-6 AM slot (i.e. someone on the air directly before me), I need to make a greater effort to get to the station on time. It didn't matter quite so much when I was the one turning the station on, but now that I'm a reliever (kinda), I want to make sure I don't get grumbled about. Plus, the sooner I can get those whippersnappers out of the studio, the sooner I can claim my chair. [stuberyl does not play well with others].

Anyway, on to my source of morning amusement.

Hey folks,

Yet again I am stuck here [in the studio] trying to keep us on the air. I go on call in 45 minutes, when I must be at work. JC is nowhere to be found, no sub request to [the mailing list], no phone call to me, and no "show available" in the internal schedule, continuing his almost flawless streak of not ever being on time for his show, heaven forbid be there a few minutes early EVAR.

[Our Lord and Savior the Chief Engineer] has offered to rearrange his schedule, blow off his morning errands and haul ass down to the station to keep us on the air, once he gets some coffee in him, but I feel bad about that. Anyone around on campus, and available to come over NOW and take over? If so, please *call* me at the station, so I can call [OL&StCE] off before he leaves home.
