Okay, this time I wasn't even composing updates in my head. Time flew by even too quickly for that. But, as I was nudged (thank you, genesse) over a week ago and the rain means I'm not going to be attempting to fix gutters, testing our newly repaired lawnmower, or adding weatherproofing to the garage and patio doors, hi!

I have not died. What I did was bought a house, and then moved into said house, and hosted parents and in-laws for extended visits there while trying to paint, furnish, and patch it up; also, I nursed a poor, defective post-surgery husband a couple of times and picked up lots of extra hours at work to assuage my panic over how much all the above was costing and also because it is annoyingly difficult to not tie your self-worth to how much income you are generating, especially if the way you are generating it at the moment doesn't really count as saving the world. (The length of that sentence reminds me that we also read The Hobbit aloud to each other. It was surprisingly different from LoTR, and I was not a fan.)

Also, I meant to tell charmedinok that I sprained another ankle, because that is what I do at major life-changes. It was last October, which I guess was kinda the mid-way point between the events of the summer (marriage, moving), winter (Indian marriage), and spring (job and house acquisition). I will not complain about only having to rehab once.

Between being busy I have had some fun. We went back to ATL for Dragon*Con again, where I met the author of a book I'd like to recommend to people who liked the actiony-angsty-conspiracy-space-cowboy aspects of Firefly. It is called Black Hole Sun and has an even better, twistier, angstier sequel, which you can't read yet because it's not out, but I got an ARC, and how cool is that?

Okay, going to stop now to visit people's journals, which I have been reading, but usually over breakfast when I'm not really awake enough to comment. And then clean a tub. Ooh, what fun.
