Keeping up with my recent trend of watching new movies, I decided to watch "Super Size Me" because I had heard about all the accolades it was recieving as a documentary and because I've been eating a lot of McDonald's food since it's practically next door to my apartment. All I can say is I never want a double cheeseburger again. THe information that movie presents is shocking and I would really recommend everyone see it, even if you don't eat a lot of fast food. Morgan Spurlock, the creator of the documentary decideds to conduct an experiment in which he eats only McDonald's food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for one month. By the end of the month he has gained 25 pounds, caused near fatal damage to his liver, and suffers through depression and constant sickness. But aside from his personal experiment, he also provides a lot of intersting social commentary about obesity in America and the huge problem that it has become. Scary and interesting stuff.
Fun facts:
Obesity related health problems are expected to replace smoking as the #1 cause of preventable death in the next 5 years.
Tulsa is the #11 most obese city in the US.
