Good evening. My name is Christina. Christina, like
Christian w/ the last 2 letters switched, meaning follower of Christ,
though I'm not. There are many popular derivatives, Xina, Tina,
Chris, Chrissy for idiots, etc, but the base remains Christina, a good
(though common) name I am proud to call my own. I see myself as a
Christina and a Christina I will remain. Mary, though on my birth
certifiicate, is not my name, and I will not willingly answer to it no
matter how many time my english teacher tries to force me too.
Stubbe is my surname, declaring me a member of a family I don't wholly
respect and often attempt to avoid seeing. It sounds cute
occasionally, but not for everyday use, and it saddens me that I became
a Stubbe before a Christina when I moved here, and now I am in what
seems like a constant fight for my name, which is a rather important
part of my identity. I rather like the name Christina
anyway. That is all.
afterthought: i'm not sure why this has become an issue w/me all of the sudden.
