spirit and truth

check out this passage from "THE FINAL QUEST" by Rick Joyner

"Our swords grew after we reached each level, but I almost left mine behind because I did not seem to need it at the higher levels.  I almost casually decided to keep it, thinking that it must have been given to me for a reason.  Then, because the ledge I was standing on was so narrow, and becoming so slippery, I drove the sword into the ground and tied myself to it while I shot at the enemy.  The voice of the Lord then came to me, saying:  'You have used the wisdom that will enable you to keep climbing.  Many have fallen becasue they did not use their sword properly to anchor themselves.'"

Ephesians 6 tells us to
"17Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. "

It's so easy, especially when first getting in to this Christianity thing, to just constantly read the Word, and get tons of truth, but never really seek anything from the Spirit (especially in America).  but when getting into the power of the Spirit of the Lord , it's also soooo easy to start overlooking the Word and just seeking spiritual power and gifts.  neither extreme is necessarily bad, but neither provides you with nearly as much power as the perfect combination of both.  an anchor of Truth in the Word enables you to secure yourself and wage war in the Spiritual realm, for without that foundation of Truth, we leave ourself swordless.  we still have a bunch of armor on--the breastplate of righteousness, the helmet of salvation, the belt of truth, the shield of faith, the readiness of the gospel, etc--but we can't be offensive without the Word of God.  i just thought that vision/analogy in the final quest was amazing.  "many have fallen because they did not use their sword properly to anchor themselves." crazy. its all about balance, like i believe everything in life is.  a balance of Spirit and Truth, neither more or less, but in perfect unity.  (John 4:23-24)

praise the Lord, i saw one of my friend get a minor--but undoubtedly miraculous--healing in his physical body today.  i hope that starts happening alot.  if anyone needs prayer for physical healing, or just prayer for anything, let me know, i want to just pray constantly, so gimme something to pray for!!!  even if it's something really small and minor, cuz God heals that stuff too.  ok well i'm gonna  head out, Jesus is king, every knee will bow, now or later, but they will bow regardless.

your pal,
