I love J Ruth Gendler's 1988 book, The Book of Qualities.
I had the urge today to do a kinky version of some of the concepts
This is a first effort and this probably isn't the finished form so consider them works in progress. Feedback welcomed.
Dominance
Dominance likes the icy wind in her face and has been known to chase snowflakes to catch them on her tongue. She lives in a house that when people visit they feel that they have come home. She loves the feel of someone sitting at her feet with their head on her knee. Sometimes she sits on the floor also just for hugs and doesn't care if anyone is watching. Dominance doesn't mind living in a house with no curtains as she has no secrets to hide. She plans lush dinner- and proper tea parties with plans to invite her friends Tact, Courtesy, and Perfection. Most often Dominance winds up down at the corner coffee shop with her running buddies Integrity, Service, and Courage. They sip coffee for hours and tell tall tales about the old days. People come sit close to their circle but never in it to listen and learn. Dominance tried a career in acting once but failed because all she could do was be herself and frame the words according to her own values. When the acting director fired her, he told her that she really needed to learn how to tell other people's truths as well as her own. She tried but all that came out was her own truth. Every so often Anger sneaks up on her for a surprise visit. She is never completely surprised, though. His support has gotten her through some rough times but outside of a crisis she is never quite certain of what to do with him. He is so often careless and breaks things that can never be replaced. He always has a place at her table or a bed to sleep in for a night or two. She does his laundry while he sleeps. Her fires burn more brightly for days after he leaves.
