9.5 month(ish) milestones
no caps in this entry since oliver ripped off my shift key. which brings me to milestone #1:
- did minor damage to his first piece of electronic equipment. mommy learned a lesson about leaving her laptop out even if she's right there.
- is getting really good at sitting down from standing. his playtime consists of going to couch, pulling up, sitting down, going to ottoman, pulling up, sitting down, going to table, pulling up, sitting down, etc etc etc. he must have thigh muscles of steel.
- cruises all over, and can cruise along furniture with one hand.
- crawls all over, he's settled into a one foot/one knee crawl/scuttle thing.
- he's been trying to pull to standing on my legs for awhile, last night he accomplished it!
- can say mama, dada, hi and baba, though i'm not 100% sure he knows what baba is. sometimes he says 'da!' at the dogs, but he says da all the time so not sure if he means the dogs.
- can stand holding onto one of my hands and can walk a bit.
- i think he's starting to understand 'no'. when i say it, he pauses for a second before continuing to do whatever he was doing. not sure if it's the tone or the actual word, but lord knows it's being repeated enough around here.
- consistently sleeping from 8-9pm to 8-9am without waking.
- clothing and diaper changes usually consist of me trying to clothe a baby who's crawling away. quite often there is a stark naked baby escaping me.
- yesterday i put him in the pack n play for a moment while I ran outside to put the stroller into the car. The pack n play has a direct line of sight to the door, and when I left he started crying and going "mama mama!!!" he's trying to break my heart.
- he has a couple of pairs of sneakers that he now wears when outside, and he's done really well with getting used to them.
- he's gotten so much more social. at baby storytime he has "conversations" with the other babies. it's so cute.
