home sweet home
Well, after a week of running around, Christmas is finally over. It’s kinda impressive how many places I’ve been within the last week: Milwaukee, Chicago, Madison, Farm, Madison, Milwaukee. And tomorrow I’m going back to Chicago ;-) We did our usual Christmas Eve thing of going to Church and spending time with my boy, Jon. Then, Christmas day we got up, opened presents, and made it out to the farm. Christmas at the farm was fun. Along with Grandpa, we got to see Aunt Candy and Uncle Sterling, and of course Rudy, their dog. Anna, my grandpa’s “lady friend” also spent most of the Christmas with us, which was nice cause she doesn’t really have any family in Wisconsin. We did our ritual of taking a road trip and ventured over to RC and Spring Green cause my uncle “hasn’t been there in 20 years since my grandpa had to pick him and my aunt up at the bars cause they were too drunk to drive home.” I guess getting drunk in RC isn’t a thing they’ve kept up over the years...haha. Anyway, we ate TONS of food and had good times. Btw…I recently read that the average American gains 6 pounds over the holidays. I think I fall into that category, as I have eaten everything that has been put in front of me. And omg....that’s a lot!
Now that Christmas is over, I have to think about New Years. Now, I can’t decide if I REALLY want to go to Chicago and spend $86 on a cover at the bars. I mean I know the “whole world” is going to be in Chicago (in particular, Craig), but OMG that’s SO much money. And after my $32 late fee at Blockbuster, I feel guilty wasting more money. Hmmm….it’s going to be a tough decision...Chicago IS an amazing time.
Anyway, tomorrow I’m heading back to Chicago and then Madison. It’s Shannon’s b-day (happy birthday, shannonz), and I’m pretty sure SOME celebrating is going to be going on ;-). And THEN I start my job on Thursday! I’m soooooooooo excited and hope that the job is as fun as I hope it to be. Woooooooo
