(no subject)
Yesterday I explored Pune some more using my 3 modes of transport. I discovered that the traffic madness that I witnessed on Monday was nothing (Monday is their equivilent of Sunday). I feared for my life a number of times when travelling on the mopeds, thank goodness Kunal's sister drives so well. I would not be able to drive in Pune myself, I would constantly give way to others and therefore stay stationary, you have to drive ever so aggressively.
Kunal's Mum and I went to the fruit and veg. market and the meat market. Everywhere is so busy and so colourful. For some reason i thought that sari's were only for specail occasions, but a lot of Indian ladies where them all the time. We also delivered some more invitations and picked up more wedding invitations. Kunal took his lovely niece and I too look for some Christmas decorations for the 25th, he has decided to have a Christmas tree for the first time. I have been watching lots of clicks of Bollywood films, good old Shara Khan seems to been in at least half of them!
Days here start at about mid morning and finish very late at night, hense I get a chance to use the internet when i get up in the morning, I have also been having little naps so that i make it through till the end of the day at between 12 ands 2 so far... Very late nights for Ruth!
The weather here is gorgeous, the heat is dry heat, so you do not feel sweaty, just nicely warm : )
I've had some more yummy Indian food, I think I am averaging 7 meals a day at the moment.
Last night Kunal managed to finish sorting out the decorations, so we had a celebratory drink with a friend of his from next door.
Today I need to pick up my dresses from the dry cleaners and my punjabi suit from the tailors and then at some point I will be moving to Dipti's sisters house. Dipti's weddings starts this evening at 8pm with a dinner dance. Tomorrow will be the henna ceremony, all very exciting.
