The British, from what I can tell, do not enjoy a cold beverage. Even the pints I've ordered "extra cold" are just cold enough to moisten the exterior of the glass, but warm enough to make me think I've grab someone else's beer they've forgot about. The sodas... well.. diet coke from a bottle produces a chemical tingle on the tongue and an acrid after taste, however the cans, do not. The cans, when vended, are cold. Diet Pepsi from a fountain is served iceless. It's carbonated, as we Americans understand carbination, for just under five minutes. I quite like the serving of diet pepsi. It was just the right temperature, and just enough fizz to be enjoyed without attacked the lenses of my glasses with popping carbination bubbles.
