but your attempts at perfection
keep me in good spirits
because now i know
there is still bliss
worth fighting for

to let you go
would be letting love out of my life
because i mean it when i say it

and there is nothing you can do about it.

i'll write you poetry to save the nations
i'll sing you songs that make time stop
i'll kiss you so much you'll never want another thing from me
i'll love you 'till your hearts content
but all of this means nothing baby
if i don't get a word back

listen to me breathe
