All my exes live in Texas

...That's not true.  If it were, my life would be much easier, as most of you know.

Anywho....

There was the Hideout Block Party this weekend, of which I attended both days.  T'was good.  I think I ruined most of the first day for myself: because of my ADD I managed to leave my tickets at home.  I'm soooo together!  It took me 3.5 hours to get from work, to my house, pick up Linda, and finally park near the Hideout.  I missed the entire Cinematics' set and some of The Changes'.  Bleeeahhh!  I think I need to get back on the speed because this kind of stuff is happening ALL the time.  So...the Block Party...at which Bloc Party played (they were ok). Cute.  The sound on Friday was muddy and cruddy.  Eh. Not a complete loss.  I got to hang with
girlvii and
artemiswinter, and Shaun and Linda and David & Julie and a few other lovely souls.  That was nice.  It made Friday night that much better.

Saturday was nice, especially with the perfect weather we had. I couldn't forget the tickets because we'd traded them in for tight-fitting wristbands!  Linda and I hung out, I won two books from Time Out.  I <3 free stuff!!  We spent most of the day with Julia, who is super lovely (Linda pointed out that I seemed to have developed a habit of befriending the women who filled the vacancy left by me in my exes' lives.  Hey, those dorks must have good taste in women!).  It was a mellow, relaxed day: we drank, we ate, we talked, we listened to some good and some not so good bands.  Andrew Bird and The Frames were exceptional.  I liked Art Brut and got a kick out of Mucca Pazza.  I can't remember what Head of Femur sounded like or if I liked them or not.  O'Death annoyed the crap out of me; they sounded too much like Modest Mouse (you all know what I think of that band) .  I REALLY disliked Dan Deacon and wanted him to stop.  We saw Manny and
kz   and his friend.  It was fun.  Except for the part where I got "stood up".  But I'm over it now.  Apparently, he isn't that in to me.  Obviously, he's a foolish boy who doesn't know what fabulousness he's missing.  Would the next candidate please step forward?  Oh, and as much as I dislike beer why do I wind up wearing someone's on me!

Dear
belalugosisda  & J, We missed you terribly at this year's Block Party!!!  Come back soon, darlings!

Then on Sunday I had my weekly Blindside meeting with my team, did some cleaning, did some work, did some reading, did some skating.

All in all, a super nice weekend.

Gotta go - The Orbit is waiting for me to chew it up with my quads!!
