Good idea. Give him time to find something else to fume about like his Quidditch team ruminate a bit on what you've told him though I doubt any amount of explanation would change his way of thinking too quickly.
It will be hard of course, but I shall endeavor to keep my eyes to myself during Potions for a while. Instead, I think I'll just spell a note over now and again if I can manage it.
